One more homegrown DiveMaster at Bezz Diving!!!
It's celebration time again for us at Bezz Diving and this time it's for Clyde's Divemaster certification. Our friendship dates back to 2011 and ironically we met in Colombia for the first time, even though we are both Maltese. Clyde had shown interest back then to start scuba diving and I had invited him for a Try Dive. He enjoyed his experience and returned for more Try Dives for the coming 3 years until one day he decided to do his Open Water course with us at Bezz Diving. We must say that he was a very easy student and...
It’s our Birthday, Bezz Diving is 5 years old today!!!
I remember clearly when Bezz Diving was about to open its doors on the 12th of June 2012. I had been travelling for 6 years and then decided to come back home to Malta. I knew back then that I wanted to dive as a profession but I never imagined that 5 years later I would be living my dream and sharing it with the amazing Bezz Diving family. The first year was successful with the help of Victor Twose and then later on Cristian Saura joined us. Who would have told us that me and Cristian had to share...

SSI vs PADI… What’s the difference?
At Bezz Diving, you have a choice of agencies when you do your training. You may wonder which one is the best. As an instructor for both agencies, I’d like to give you the low-down. STANDARDS Both agencies have set standards based on years of research and industry best practice. The differences noticeable to a student are relatively minor, but they have greater implications for the instructor. Standards govern things, such as class sizes and depth limits based on age and experience. They also determine what skills are taught and the sequence of those skills. Many instructors prefer the...
Bristol Beaufighter, a brief history
During 1943 several British RAF Beaufighter Squadrons were operating from RAF Luqa (Now the International Airport) in Malta. The Beaufighters were crewed by a pilot and navigator and operated in the Fighter and Light Ground Attack Roles using their 4x 20mm Hispano Cannons (In the Nose, just above Torpedo in Right Picture) and 6x .303 Browning Machine Guns (In the Wings). They could also carry Torpedoes (color Picture) and Rockets (black&white Picture). On 17 March 1943, 9 Beaufighters from 272 Sqn got airborne late morning, with the mission of protecting 9 other ‘Beaufort’ Light Bombers on raids to enemy shipping...

This article was written by Dr. Stephen Muscat (dr.muscat@gmail.com) , an expert in the Medicine of Diving at Mater Dei Hospital in Malta A common symptom after scuba diving is an itchy skin rash. Good judgement and common sense is essential in these cases as cases of decompression sickness may be missed. Always consult a diving physician or send the diver to casualty if there is any doubt. A typical scenario is an experienced diver doing one or more 30m+ dives and noticing the rash within an hour after surfacing. The rash is typically flat, irregular (like a map), reddish...
